Mark from Austin stone – This guy is making progress

Another long clip, but a wonderful ending!

Cool. The guy is learning to think! I feel bad for the reaction he’s going to get at church!

  2. Suz says:

You know, I’m cheering him on from a perspective of faith, and I don’t even find that ironic! Letting go of the trappings of religion was scary for me, but it’s what allowed me to be comfortable with what “little” I do believe. As you can see from my post today, I “celebrate” Easter, but I almost feel like I’m deceiving my Christian friends, and encouraging them to think that I share their understanding of it. I rarely refer to the earth, for example, as God’s creation, because I can’t commit to the idea that he created it, yet I feel he is a part of it. I don’t even think of him as a “He,” as that implies some sort of personality. Oh my! Religion as a form of anthropomorphism? If Christ had never been born, I guess I’d be agnostic, wouldn’t I?

    Hey Suz,
Yes, I have a lot of respect for liberal Christianity, as it was they that led me out of fundamentalism. My only complaint is that we can’t technically count you in as one of us, for you’d give the movement so much fresh air! Labels seem silly sometimes, don’t they? Anyway, thanks for always commenting on my posts, I’m glad I have at least one fan!
